The game introduces players to seven types of aquatic ecosystems in Indonesia including deep sea, river, lake, seagrass beds, wetlands, coral reefs, and mangrove forest. It also introduces players to eight types of animal that inhabit those ecosystems including milky storks, clown fish, blue whales, proboscis monkeys, pora-pora fish, dugongs, dolphins, and sunfish.

Aquatico aims to raise awareness about the connections among ecosystems in the environment and the value of working together to protect the environment “from Ridges to Reefs”. Players acts as a community whose job is to protect the ecosystem above to stay healthy.
